SERJ TANKIAN: New Audio Interview Available
February 8, 2008Italian magazine Metal Shock conducted an interview with SYSTEM OF A DOWN singer Serj Tankian during his current tour in support of the 2007 solo album, "Elect the Dead". During the chat, Tankian said, among other things, that people coming to his shows understand this is a solo tour, not a SYSTEM OF A DOWN concert, so there's no requests from the audience for him to play SOAD songs.
Audio excerpts from the interview, including a lenghty explanation on why Serj's music connects so well with teenagers, can be heard at this location.
PopEater music blog is currently hosting the premiere of Serj Tankian's new music video for "Sky Is Over", which is the next single off Serj's solo debut, "Elect the Dead". Watch the clip below. According to Tankian, the video "was co-directed by Tony Petrossian (who directed my 'Empty Walls' video) and Ara Jason Soudjian (who directed the indie music video for 'Money')."
Tankian has added more headlining U.S. dates to his current tour schedule, which will find the vocalist alternating between his own shows and an opening stint for FOO FIGHTERS. Tankian's newest confirmed gigs will take him out west and into Canada during a two-week period in mid-March, before he heads overseas for a European trek that begins on April 1. FAIR TO MIDLAND will open for Tankian on the March dates. Tankian's run with FOO FIGHTERS starts on February 18 in Worcester, Massachusetts and ends on March 6 in Los Angeles.
Tankian will also perform several headlining shows from February 11 to February 16 in Georgia, North Carolina, Virginia and Maryland.
